In Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's district, the 14th in NY, there is heated race on both sides as candidates line up to defeat her. The Democrats are sick of her, and her far left leaning ways - some say there are
Missing Persons signs in the Bronx with her face on them. She is seen in Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire - but is AWOL in her own backyard. Not good.
So the Dems may well be rid of her by summer.
And then they will have to face one of the many GOP candidates. The GOP, if it is smart and wants to win, had the winner already in hand: Miguel Hernandez. But Hernandez is not the rich white guy candidate that they back too often. So far the Bronx side backs John Cummings, a policeman, and the Queens side backs a black woman. I am not making any personal attacks on either side, but common sense would note that neither of these is Hispanic or speaks Spanish. FYI, the district is over 50% Hispanic, and the incumbent is Puerto Rican.
As is Hernandez. But that is about all that he shares with AOC. Unlike her, he came from a poor family, supported his mom and his brothers and sisters, and made it in life by hard work. Yes, he went to college. He managed to get top certification in his field, and also flies a plane. A competent man who knows the value of hard work and the issues.
One issue he is taking on is the lack of medical preparedness in this country. A week or so ago, at an at opening midtown, he was talking about getting penicillin factories up and running in the US. And he knows a thing or two about the pharma industry, as he built a pharmaceutical plant in New Jersey.
His push for penicillin is something that AOC and her socialist workers party have not even mentioned. Too much hard work for the socialist workers.
BTW, how many penicillin factories are there in the US?
NONE.
So where would one get this medicine?
One might get it from India of China. The latter cannot get enough raw materials, as China is out of order at the moment, and, well try getting anything out of China just now.
So where does that leave us in the US?
Stuck.
Am I making a point? I think so.
Like most people, I don't want some bug to come wipe me out. I am not interested in AOC and Sanders, or in Cummings, the white GOP candidate, or even the black GOP candidate.
Common sense is key here.
And that is why Hernandez, not his GOP opponents, is in the major press. And if you live in the district and are a registered Republican, or can register as one, then you might want to sign his petition to be on the ballot by the end of March. Else we could get the national socialist in power and no meds in our pharmacies.
The mother of a friend of mine in South Carolina got a solicitation, asking for $ to be sent to a PO Box in Virginia. The woman was familiar with solicitations with PO Box addresses from there, so was about to throw it out like all the other mail. But she noticed something odd about it; that is was asking for $ for a candidate in New York City. Jineea Butler is sending these out, asking for $ from strangers in far flung states, telling them she is taking on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortz in the 14th district in New York.
I don't see her registered. I do know Miguel Hernandez, the first
candidate to register GOP - and the ONLY Hispanic candidate to run on
the GOP ticket in that district. It is a Latin district, with over 50%
of the voters being Latin American. Black folks and white folks have a little over 10% each. Making it political suicide to run where you have no base.
Jineea already got a good kicking trying that in 2018. She lots to the Democrat, Andrew Espaillat - who beat her about 95%-5%. Anyone giving her $ to run again, in a Hispanic district, and thinking she can win, is a fool.Jineea was running in the district that includes Harlem, so that really shows. Only 5%. Looks like the sisters and brothers did not eve vote for her. A white GOP man that year got 14% in the 14th District. Jineea could be asking for $ that she knows she can end up keeping, so far we see no record of her really spending on the campaign beyond $ spent on asking for $.
Further, no one really has any knowledge of Ms Butler. She had some low lever jobs with the city, and was or is an employee at the Social Services of Hip Hop (WTF?) - hardly someone to whom hard earned $ ought to be entrusted.
Hernandez, on the other hand, is well known in GOP circles, working with Ken Gibson, Bryan Jung and Cindy Grosz. Gibson is an author and non-partisan environmental activist
noted on this site for his investigative work, Jung is the District leader for the GOP in the 1st NYC council district who has worked on over 10 campaigns, and
Cindy Gross is a PR person who writes for a number of publications including the Times of Israel.
And quite importantly, Hernandez has real experience in business and in training people, giving them needed job skills that they now use to go out and maintain the infrastructure.
Interestingly, he is also a pilot, as was Fiorella La Guardia, the famous Republican who took the
stronghold away. It happens to have been in the 14th congressional district.
Hernandez, not Butler, is able to take up La Gaurdia's mantle and win this election.
The left is trying to use the issue of children being separated from their parents who are illegal immigrants. They offer no solution, and in fact, did the same when Obama and others were in power. The left turned back an entire shipload of immigrants fleeing Hitler who would have all perished had not the British taken in most of them later on. So the left, which was for slavery back in the day, is just making noise and being the usual hypocrite.
Hypocrisy is the mother of much irony, and it does not go completely unnoticed. The lefty paper the New York Daily News is constantly being reminded of this by its own readers, such as Bob Bergin from Danbury, Connecticut, who wrote in on 22 June to spell it out like this:
If Melania Trump commits a crime and is taken into custody, Barron would be separated from his mother. That's how it works.
Another reader, James Quinlan from Yonkers, wrote:
What kind of parent takes their child with them to knowingly commit a crime - illegally cross the border?
When children are separated from their families by illegal immigrants, who cares? What about the 15 year-old in the Bronx who was macheted to death by a gang? Who is noting that these gang members all speak in Spanish, not English, where are their visas? Are they dreamers? If so, what do they dream about, murdering American children and then taunting and threatening the parents? Trump wants these people out of the country and then more families would be together - and alive. If the left gave a damn they would support ICE and round up all MS 13 and Trinitario members. Instead, we get to pay to feed them and their translators?
The scary thing about the liberal Hillary regime is that the left is full of educated stupid people who think they are above the law, above the people, above the cops. Here in Manhattan we have a doctor who is smart-stupid and was arrested after hitting cops with her car. Thankfully she lost her job over the fiasco, but we are left with so many other self righteous lefties that we simply cannot afford to put any in the White House. Trump, whatever his shortcomings, supports our police. To him black lives matter, blue lives matter, all lives matter. There is in fact a Gays4Trump group. Brothers4Trump, Gays4Trump, Everybody ought to be 4Trump!
Here is the story about the anti-cop anti-Trump doctor from hell who hit our cops with her car:
A cancer surgeon who boasted that her job made her superior to the
lowly NYPD officers arresting her for refusing a summons and clipping a
cop with her car took a plea deal Tuesday in Manhattan court — but remained unrepentant for the bizarre fiasco. Rachel Wellner, 40, wearing a red minidress and black pumps, pleaded
guilty to disorderly conduct — a violation, not a crime — for parking in
a crosswalk Feb. 18. “The people are making the offer,” said ADA Michael McCarthy,
“because it is defendant’s first arrest and the officer involved did not
experience serious injury.” Defense lawyer Christopher Galiardo retorted, “The officer didn’t experience any injuries.”
Judge Ushir Pandit-Durant sentenced the former breast cancer
specialist at Montefiore Medical Center to a conditional discharge and
10 days of community service. The non-criminal record will be sealed in
two years.
As she strolled out of court, Wellner said she regretted stopping in
the Midtown crosswalk: “I’m remorseful for that, that’s all I did.” Wellner allegedly got into trouble when cops tried to give her a
summons for blocking the walkway with her car on West 55th Street
between Eighth and Ninth avenues. “I’m a doctor,” she sniffed to police, wearing her green scrubs. “I
have patients that are dying. I have to go. I’m the hero, the cops are
not. I don’t accept the summons.” She then ramped up her tirade, allegedly hurling homophobic slurs at the officers. Modal TriggerRachel WellnerPhoto: Umar Abbasi“All women who are cops are dykes,” she said, according to court papers. The cops finally had enough when she screamed, “Help! Police are
assaulting me!” and placed her under arrest, the complaint states. But the high-strung doctor continued to struggle as officers tried to
cuff her and “jumped up and down” in her Volvo, court papers say. Wellner hit the gas and allegedly struck Officer Niguel Vega in the
legs. She was promptly booked on reckless endangerment, resisting arrest
and other raps. “I’ve been painted in a very negative and inaccurate light,” Wellner
previously said in a phone interview, denying that she uttered the
hateful slurs.
She was terminated from her position at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.
